Part-Time Music Ministry Director

A growing Southern Baptist congregation in Wagener, SC is seeking a Part-Time Music Ministry Director who is passionate about leading God's people in worship through music.

The ideal candidate will be a devoted Christian with a genuine heart for worship, strong musical abilities, and a gift for connecting with and encouraging the congregation.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and Lead Worship Services
  • Select music that aligns with biblical truths.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral staff to ensure a cohesive flow of worship elements.

Oversee and Develop Musical Teams
  • Supervise Audio Video teams, lead rehearsals, and direct choirs, praise teams, or ensembles as needed.
  • Coordinate with instrumentalists and Audio Video teams, ensuring they are well-prepared for services.

Foster Congregational Engagement
  • Encourage the congregation's full participation in worship through a variety of music styles.
  • Remain attentive to how the congregation responds to different musical expressions.

Administrative Duties
  • Manage the church's music budget and resources.
  • Organize schedules, song selections, and practice times.
  • Collaborate with church leadership for special events and seasonal programs.

Experience & Education

  • Preferred: Previous experience leading congregational music ministry.
  • Preferred: Formal music education or training.
  • Plus: Experience directing or coordinating a choir.

Required Skills

Musical Proficiency:
  • Ability to read sheet music and demonstrate strong musicality.
  • Able to integrate a range of styles to engage the congregation in meaningful worship.
  • Clear and confident singing voice with accurate pitch.
  • Skilled in leading worship vocally, with piano proficiency strongly preferred.

Leadership & Communication:
  • Compassionate yet professional demeanor.
  • Strong communication skills, attentive to volunteers' and congregants' needs.
  • Flexible, servant-leader approach, willing to help wherever needed.
